Licensing authorities in Aberdeen have decided to get rid of a new scheme that prevented people on a night out from gaining late-night entry into clubs. The six month trial was carried out despite protests from bar and club owners and indeed, as it turns out, they were correct.
The police have even come back as saying that the measure may have been counter-effective, provoking more violence and aggressive behaviour towards members of the public, security guards and security officers when access to clubs was refused at earlier times.
