Security guard Wayne Dawes, 40 years of age, has been arrested on suspicion of posing as a policeman on numerous occasions.

Dawes, a former special constable for West Yorkshire Police, resigned from the force in order to guard against a conflict of interest with his security guard job.

Police officers picked Dawes up in Gorton after it was discovered he attended the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) meeting in Manchester disguised as a policeman as well as impersonating an officer elsewhere throughout the city.
