The following key objectives have been identified as compulsory ongoing training and development requirements for members of the dedicated security team:

  • SIA licensing and SIA license renewals in accordance with SIA policy.
  • First Aid Training, annual refreshers and full renewals every 3 years.
  • Annual on site Health and Safety and Risk Assessment training or otherwise in accordance with any relevant changes in legislation.
  • We will also deal with ongoing and specific on site training.

The roles and responsibilities of the security guards are quite diverse and are completely flexible to the specific requirements of the customer. Please note that this is not a comprehensive list of roles and responsibilities and is subject to any additional requirements or requests. Security Guards – Person Specification

The following key objectives have been identified as compulsory person specifications for Churchill Security Guards:

  • All guards are SIA licensed and fully vetted in accordance with the British Standards 7858 criteria.
  • All guards will be CRB checked in line with Security Industry Authority (SIA) regulations.


  • All guards will have a good standard of numeric and literacy skills.
  • All guards will have the relevant experience of writing reports / statements.


  • All guards will have relevant experience of working in a customer orientated environment and will be capable of relating well to the general public.
  • All guards will receive extensive on site training and supervision.


  • All guards will be mature, self aware individuals with significant knowledge and experience of the security industry and/or other related fields.
  • All guards are fully uniformed and well presented in line with the specific requirements of the customer


  • All guards will have experience of reception duties, facilities management, customer service and face to face interaction with members of the public.
  • All guards will be fully committed to quality and customer care.


  • All guards will be proactive in performing their duties and in helping others.
  • All guards will be very professional and well mannered with an enthusiastic attitude and willingness to deliver successful customer service.


  • All guards will have excellent communication skills and team working abilities with additional proven ability to work using own initiative.
  • All guards will be able to use and operate portable communications equipment.


  • All guards will have a general understanding of health and safety procedures and regulations and ability to support the company’s Health & Safety Policy.
  • All guards will have an enthusiastic attitude and willingness to deliver a successful customer service.


  • All guards will be very friendly and helpful and able to remain calm and courteous in demanding situations.
  • All guards will be flexible and willing to adapt and take on additional tasks that may be required.


Quality Assurance Management

Churchill Security Guards recognise the importance of quality management and we are fully committed to our Quality Assurance Programme. Our Quality Management Systems have been externally assessed and registered as meeting the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001: 2000 for The Provision of Manned Security Services including Uniformed Mobile and Static Guards in accordance with BS7499: 2007 and BS 7858: 2006 and Key holding and Alarm response services in accordance with BS 7984:2001. A number of policies and procedures exist and will be implemented into the assignment instructions for the site to ensure continuous quality in service provision. An overview of these quality assurance documents and procedures are as follows:


Assignment Instructions & Risk Assessment

The assignment instructions are designed to assist our security guards in successfully meeting the needs of the customer. They set out a risk assessment survey and also provide specific instructions for the security guards when carrying out their duties on site.

As part of Churchill’s Quality Assurance Programme it is essential that the customer signs the instructions to acknowledge what has been agreed.  In partnership with the Churchill Management Team, the customer can alter or add to the assignment where they feel it is appropriate and may benefit service provision. The assignment instructions and risk assessment is used as a working document at site and referred to on a daily basis.


Loss & Waste Prevention Audits

The security of the premises and the prevention of loss and waste will be a major priority for the organisation. A series of weekly and monthly audits to closely monitor loss and waste will be carried out by the security team.


Log Book

Each member of the security team will log their activity and the duties carried out during each shift in the log book. Any other relevant information and/or observations will be noted in the log book which will remain located on site and contribute to the continuity of the flow of information between the team.


Incident Reports

Any incidents will be reported fully and in detail. A copy will be passed to the customer and the Churchill Security Management Team and form part of the review process of quality management and service delivery.


Online Roster / Schedule Management

A copy of the roster / schedule will be made available to the security team and the customer on a weekly basis upon request, detailing the shift patterns for the week ahead. This can be accessed online via a unique secure username and password.


Security Service Reviews

Regular security service reviews with the Churchill Security Management Team will form part of the quality assurance programme. It is proposed that monthly reviews be recommended, although this is completely flexible to the needs and requirements of the customer.
