A counterfeit Cisco ring has just been broken by the FBI. Resulting in 30 convictions and millions of pounds worth of equipment being recovered, the operation to infiltrate and close down the counterfeit operation has been deemed a success.

Despite security systems and precautions being put in place, the offenders managed to re-badge sub-standard networking equipment with Cisco badges – and as Cisco supplies hospitals and defence units, this could have been disastrous.
