A mystery shopper investigation initiated by the Master Locksmiths Association has found a worrying lack of lock knowledge in the well-known DIY stores. A dire 63% of staff in well-known stores had a sever lack of even basic lock knowledge.

According to the MLA, a lack of knowledge was shown in three particular areas: locking systems, insurance and multiple occupancy housing rules. Not that I’m too surprised as most people who work in these stores are simply after a part time job – they have no knowledge or love of locks.
