There is talk about the Police stepping up the security on Saturday for when Wayne Rooney plays against his old club Everton. This will be his first game against the rivals since the claims about Rooney and his ‘vice girl’. Rooney has received nothing but grief from the club since his transfer to Manchester United in 2004, and the police are sure that this will get worse with the recent press on Rooneys fling with a hooker.
Police and stewards working at the Everton ground on the big day have been warned of the riots that may be caused but it seems that the Merseyside officers will not do anything different to any other game unless they hear of a specific threat to Wayne Rooney.
