It has recently been reported that 3000+ laptops were stolen from a contractor of the US Special Operations Command. On the 8th of March a crew of thieves spent 9 hours stealing the equipment from iGov Technologies; a company that helped develop SOCOM’s tactical local area network.
The details of the theft only emerged when the St Petersburg Times, a Florida-based newspaper, found information about the crime within a search warrant filed in Hillsborough County Circuit Court. The FBI has managed to recover 1,911 of the stolen items so far but the whereabouts of over 1000 laptops are still unknown.
