I think that sometimes Nick Clegg forgets which party had the majority of votes in the election and who is Prime Minister. It’s fair to surmise that he has in fact, tied David Cameron up and stuck him inside a closet, the door guarded by a security guard so he can’t break loose. Because I can see no other explanation for Nick Clegg’s hogging of the limelight.
Today Clegg has done away with ID cards, certain internet records and biometric passports, stating, “I’ve spent my political life fighting to open up politics. So let me make one thing clear: this Government is going to transform our politics so the state has far less control over you.”
Ah, Cleggy Cleggy Cleggy, you daft monkey! Of course, the state having complete control over its people is a bad thing but one of the reasons that the country is in the state it’s in, is because it has too little control over its citizens – it doesn’t even know who the majority of its citizens are! What we need is more control in the areas that count, not less!
