The British Beer & Pub Association (BBPA) has publicly asked the police and local authorities to, pretty much, be cool during the World Cup. Rather than asking for the police and security guards to turn a blind eye, instead the BBPA is asking police and authorities to not “invent unnecessary regulation” for pubs in the World Cup.

According to the BBPA, a Home Office document was spotted declaring the intention of adding more police officers, risk assessments and test purchases before the World Cup. However, not only does this risk antagonising football fans and straining the already strained relationship between the public and police and the public and event security it also takes a lot of the fun out what should be a communal event. How about we all promise to be good together.
