IT Security experts have warned that a shipment of Samsung Wave smartphones destined for Germany has been shipped out with malware on the microSD cards, making them a risk to data security.

The Samsung Wave’s S8500s 1GB microSD card acts as a Trojan and F-Secure security advisor Sean Sullivan has said; “The file’s MD5 is bb9818d76fe60e68608e2a1e7bc6666b and we detect it as Trojan.Generic.3932466.” Apparently, the Trojan was passed onto the cards by an infected computer.

Samsung are now aware of the Trojan, but some mobiles have still been sold to consumers. Not that many though, so that’s a relief!
