Two teenagers in London, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, have been arrested by the Metropolitan Police.
The teenagers were arrested yesterday for their role in an internet cyber crime forum. The teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of encouraging or assisting crime, unauthorised access under the Computer Misuse Act and also conspiracy to commit fraud. They have been released on bail for the time being.
The Police Central e-Crime Unit (PCeU), which investigates breaches of IT security and internet cyber crime, have been investigating the forum for months – the largest it has ever seen. They have already recovered 65,000 compromised credit card numbers that could have cost £7.9 million.
