The recent update released by IT security company McAfee on April 21st caused problems for some people when it deleted a Windows XP file that made some PCs shut down or repeatedly restart.
After quite a few complaints, McAfee has offered some solutions. A freephone number is available for customers to ring technicians in the hope that they can help get their data security and PCs back on track. Failing that, McAfee are offering new software updates and CDs. Also as compensation, McAfee customers who suffered problems will apparently get a two year extension on their current McAfee gear for free.
