Internet company Google has hired Stroz Friedberg, an IT security specialist, to look into why a software error collected private data from unsecured Wi-Fi networks.

On May 14th, Google admitted that while using its Street View cars, a new software inadvertently collected private data from Wi-Fi networks over a number of years. Many countries have now launched investigations into Google.

Stroz Friedberg should have a report ready by the end of the week according to Google spokespeople. Stroz Friedberg specialises in computer forensics, data breach investigations and electronic discovery.
