Axis Communications has released yet another new innovation in the security sector – thermal imaging cameras for the consumer market. Thermal video cameras create images that are based on the heat that radiates from a person or object. This gives thermal cameras an advantage over traditional surveillance cameras as thermal cameras can provide imaging in adverse conditions such as bad weather or smoke. For security in areas such as public places or darkened warehouses, thermal imaging cameras can pick up things that normal cameras would miss.
