BAE Systems has enlisted the help of Human Recognition Systems (HRS) in order to try to fast-track the long-awaited 3D facial recognition technology which would be primarily used in public places such as airports and train stations. In turn, HRS is using OmniPerception, a biometrics company that specialises in facial recognition. The company is currently using its employees as test subjects for the facial recognition systems. If successful, soon we could see a time when criminals are identified by as little as the shape of their nose.
