A Kent police officer has been disciplined after an investigation criticised the security systems of the police force.

The police officer in question had documents stolen from the boot of his police car. A member of public found the paperwork the day after the theft, dumped in the street. The passer-by kindly returned the confidential documents to the police station.

The Information Commissioner was informed and conducted an investigation into the security systems that the Kent Police has in place, concluding that they need to be improved.
