The British Retail Consortium has revealed new figures showing that in 2009, shop thefts occurred every minute, meaning that businesses in Britain were left with a huge £1.1 billion bill. One solution to retail security is using IPCCTV. By running CCTV over an IP network, it can become digitalised, making security a whole lot easier. This also opens up the possibility of adding Automatic Face Recognition technology which would mean retail security becoming proactive rather than reactive.
