People in the Philippines are about to get more of a helping hand from CCTV than they ever thought. The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority has decided to use its sophisticated CCTV system as an early warning system for floods.

In order to try to combat rising crime, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority installed CCTV however, with the rainy season nearly upon the area, a more urgent concern arises.

The CCTV cameras are now more state-of-the-art than before and are being used to warn villages should the authorities spot floods in the Metropolis. CCTV – a crime deterrent and an early warning flood system!
