The Security Industry Association, or SIA has announced their most recent prosecution of a managing director and operations manager for a leading Luton based security firm for supplying an unlicensed security guard and failing to provide licensing and other information to investigation officers with the SIA, resulting in a £8,400 fine.

The Luton based company was investigated following an operation which took place in 2010, during which a guard working at a construction site in High Street Kensington was found to be deployed without a working license. Upon questioning, the man claimed that he was working as an unpaid volunteer, despite working for AJ Security Consultancy Limited. Further investigation found that he had in fact worked 648 hours for the company.

The two gentlemen have had their SIA licenses revoked and now face the closure of their company, while those employing their services also face insurance clampdowns for not providing adequate security measures for the site.
